ACI/CMPBS Student Pervious Concrete Competition

CMPBS, in partnership with the American Concrete Institute (ACI) is proud to announce the debut of the ACI Student Pervious Concrete Competition. The new ACI Student Pervious Concrete Competition will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2010, during the ACI Spring 2010 Convention. Even if your university has never participated in an ACI Student Competition before, now is the time to get involved in ACI's first ever Pervious Concrete Competition.

Objective: In an effort to promote sustainability with concrete, teams are challenged to create a pervious concrete specimen which maximizes permeability while also maintaining good splitting tensile strength. The competition also has a written report.

Prizes: Two independent prize categories are offered, Specimen Testing and Sustainability Report. First, Second, and Third place winners in each category will be awarded a certificate of recognition, featured in Concrete International magazine, and recognized on ACI's Web site. In addition, for the Specimen Testing category the first place team will receive a $300 award, the second place team will receive $200, and the third place team will receive $100. For the Sustainability Report category the first place team will receive a $500 award, the second place team will receive $300, and the third place team will receive $200.Don't delay!
