Home for Life: Marketing

The 2007 Texas A&M Solar Decathlon, a "Home for Life," created the idea of a groHome that responds to home economics, according to the breakdown of average cost-per-month for a typical Central Texas family. The building design incorporates considerations of the way design, manufacturing, construction, and life of buildings affect the earth. The groHome introduces a new economic model into the home industry, allowing homeowners to incrementally grow, take out smaller loans, and thus all but eliminate the cost of debt. The groHome requires no heavy equipment to construct and components can be constructed from multiple locations at once, allowing the process to involve designers from around the world. Although the A&M Solar D incorporates the newest technologies at the time of its design and construction, the groHome will never decay- it embodies evolution.
