The Center Bids AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) Summer 2014 Crew Farewell

As a part of our ongoing mission to educate and train the next generation of sustainbility leaders, The Center hosts Americorps NCCC volunteers who learn about sustainable design while making an essential contribution to our work.  We are grateful for the service of our most recent group, a terrific team of nine volunteers, who just completed their two-month term of service on Friday and are shown here at a farewell luncheon given in their honor. The crew has assisted us in fabricating a shade structure prototype for Ecology Action of Texas' Circle Acres Site, establishing the grounds for our food forest, building a water-harvesting hoop structure to house tools and collect water for the food forest, and the continued restoration of the 2007 A&M Solar Decathlon building. We're grateful for their service and for the AmeriCorps NCCC program, which allows for valuable community contributions through collaboration and service learning.
