#TIY: Donate to The Center's Try-It-Yourself Initiatives
To create healthy and sustainable communities, we develop protocols, prototypes, and policies that advance contemporary understandings and standards of what it means to be “green.” We use next-generation thinking, inviting volunteers and interns to try new skills and ideas in accomplishing our projects. We "try it ourselves" and create demonstrations so you can try it yourself, too.
Support us this holiday season as we continue to try new ways to build community resilience!

Your gift to The Center today helps us fund these important projects:
• Our unique Intern and Volunteer Program,
providing unmatched #TIY hands-on learning opportunities in appropriate technologies and ecobalance planning and design. We have engaged over 100 interns from over 50 universities in the U.S. and around the world, and continue to build upon this legacy.
Recent intern Jeff Murphy, pictured at left in The Center's metal shop, had the opportunity to try blacksmithing, building component fabrication for a rainwater catchment prototype, and solar water heater assembly.
• Our demonstration campus and free monthly, educational Open Houses,
offering a "please-touch" education venue featuring our next-generation building, water, and energy system demonstrations that focus on addressing critical local issues including water security, healthy materials, and affordable housing with practical solutions.
We emphasize a #TIY approach – demonstrating how we enhance the resilience and health of our built environment, and how you can too.

Please give now to support these programs! We’ll keep you posted on all of our next-generation thinking and the interns and volunteers you're supporting as they try new things. We'll also recognize your gift on our website, and offer you special access to events if you donate at the Green Circle level.
We hope to see you soon at our December 12th Community Potluck and Holiday Party, where we'll celebrate all of the ways we've tried it ourselves this year, and all of our great supporters who inspire us, take initiative, and try it themselves.
Thanks for supporting the serious #TIY commotion!
